We create landscaping designs that are individually exclusive to each site and each person. With an education in design, plant knowledge of both native and non-native plants and abundant installation experience, we are able to provide designs of any complexity. We can provide quick schematics to meet a small budget or we can provide intensive designs that serve as the foundation for larger projects. The design process takes a unique form for each individual site. The traditional process of connecting people and place is as follows:
We will complete an initial site visit to meet and discuss all the details of the project. This is the point when you tell us everything you have been thinking about your landscape. We listen to you and direct the conversation with questions to help us get all the valuable information we need to start the design. We then walk through the site and keep the conversation going, but this time with more detail about what we are seeing in the landscape.
Once we have gained all the information from the site visit, we retreat back to the office to begin the putting together the proposal for the design. Our proposals give you control of the total scope of work. We offer options regarding the visual component of the design. For instance, you can choose between a black & white or a full color design presentation, type of estimate, plant list and number of renderings. With all the options, you play a vital role in the end product.
Once the proposal is accepted we can begin the design process. This is where the dream begins to come alive! First, we complete a basemap which contains all of the information we have gathered from the site. It is important that we get this right, so we may return if we are unsure or if we missed something that we need to know to complete the design.
The actual design process will vary from person to person and will vary from site to site. Each design will contain an initial rendering that comes with a consultation to explain what we are trying to accomplish. This is an important phase because it gives us valuable feedback to make sure we are on the right path. Complex designs may require multiple renderings to ensure success. Once the initial renderings and consultations are complete, the final design is completed along with all the other contract requirements.
Once the design is complete, we will meet again to review the details of the design and estimate and to address any questions you may have. We will discuss an abundant amount of detail in this last meeting, so questions will certainly arise. We are always available via phone or email to answer these questions or make slight changes if needed. When this phase is complete, we can move to the installation phase.
